When it comes to makeup, I’ve never been a serious connoisseur. I’ve always known that I don’t need makeup, but recently it’s become such a thrilling hobby for me. From finding the perfect tinted moisturizer to trying out a smokey eye, I’ve learned to love it without looking like a clown.
With my birthday and Christmas less than a month away from each other, I was lucky enough to pick up/received some amazing new products.
Marc Jacobs ‘Lolita’ Palette: This was my big big splurge for my birthday. These neutral eye shadows look amazing and have a great color payoff. The mix of matte and shimmer tones will give you the best mixes for an amazing smokey eye look. I do with the hard at least one dark shadow that would make getting more of a dramatic look easier.
Nars Guy Bourdin’s Crime of Passion Eye, Cheek and Lip Palette: A great gift from one of my coworkers, This 3 shade eye shadow and 2 shade cheek combo is great. I primarily just use the shadows (Jezebel: Shimmery sable and Pandora: Matte black). They definitely work well with the Marc Jacobs colors and gives me a very sultry eye look. I could do without the lipgloss (a little too sticky for my taste) and the blush and bronzer (deep throat and Laguna aren’t the best for my skin tone.
Nars And God Created The Woman Palette: I think I’m just a sucker for great neutrals. These colors are super sultry and I can’t wait to try them out. Plus the Palette came with a travel size shadow brush and nars primer.
Last but certainly not least…
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner: I’ve been looking for a liquid liner that was easy to use and had an amazing payoff. I’m pretty much a cat eye lover and oh boy was this a great purchase. I used this liner Friday night before going to dinner and then to a lounge and woke up the next morning without even a smudge! (yes it was a bit of a crazy night and I fell asleep with my makeup on…please don’t judge me lol)
